The beach is a gentle 10 minute walk from the house.

The Costa Del Sol has over 70 golf courses, earning the nickname Costa Del Golf.
There are over a dozen courses within 15 minutes drive of Casa Tranquila.

Located on the coast midway between Malaga and Marbella, La Cala de Mijas is the perfect town to explore the Costa del Sol region.
It is approximately 30 minutes from Malaga and its airport and approximately 30 minutes by car from Marbella and the night spots of Puerto Banús.

The town has a picturesque old center with narrow streets, traditional white-washed buildings, and a lovely main square where you can enjoy a coffee or a meal while immersing yourself in the local ambiance.

There is a wide range of high-class restaurants, from the simplest with a good dish of the day to more expensive ones, which include Chinese, Thai, French, Italian, Indian and of course Spanish restaurants with high quality of both food and service. Relax on the porch, explore nearby hiking trails, or take a scenic drive through the countryside.

The outdoor market in La Cala de Mijas is held every Wednesday and Saturday from 9:00 till 2:30 unless the fair is in town. It is approximately 5 minutes walk from Casa Tranquila.
It is visited by locals and tourists so it has a wide range of goods on offer including clothing and fashion, cookware and pottery, souvenirs, leather goods, and fruit and veg.
The area is know as the Costa del Golf for a reason. There are over 70 courses across the Costa del Sol, and 15 of them are within 15 minutes drive of Casa Tranquila.
The resort at La Cala has three courses and there are multiple others that are just as close including Santana, Chaparral, Mijas, Miraflores, Casanova and Cabopino.
Slightly further afield are the 2023 Solheim Cup host La Finca Cortesin and 1997 Ryder Cup host Real Club Valderrama, both of which are approximately 1h drive.
It is possible to hire golf clubs locally in La Cala de Mijas or at many of the golf courses themselves.
